The 2000 barrel and cap are made from a lightweight, durable fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate resin from Bayer known as Makrolon. It has a brushed matt texture that resists fingerprints and grime, as well as providing a secure grip. The texture also helps to make the seams virtually invisible where the filler knob and barrel meet. The size, weight, balance, and finish all work together to create a pen that has been a favourite for over 50 years.
